Dick Grayson

Richard John Grayson was born to the acrobatic duo the "Flying Graysons". When he was a child, a mob boss named Tony Zucco sabotaged their trapeze equipment, causing his parents to fall to their deaths. Bruce Wayne, who was in the audience that night, adopted the orphaned Dick as his legal ward, seeing a reflection of his own tragic past. Wayne trained him to become his sidekick, the first Robin, the Boy Wonder. As he matured, Dick left Batman's shadow to become the independent hero Nightwing, eventually operating out of Blüdhaven. He even temporarily assumed the mantle of Batman himself when Bruce Wayne was presumed dead.
